About Dunross Press

Built for the step after self-publishing

Dunross Press exists for one reason: too many good books never make it past a Kindle screen, because the gap between self-publishing and bookshop distribution is wide, technical, and hard to cross alone.

Why We Exist

Amazon KDP is a starting line, not a finish line

Platforms like KDP have made publishing more accessible than ever — but they've also created a ceiling. A book that thrives on Amazon can still be invisible to bookshops, because getting into print distribution properly means navigating IngramSpark's technical templates and wholesaler systems like Gardners, which supply the shops themselves.

Dunross Press was set up to do that work for independent publishers: taking a manuscript that's already proven itself on KDP and preparing it properly for a physical shelf.

Our Focus

  • Independent publishers and self-published authors already active on KDP
  • Cover design and print formatting built to industry specification
  • Distribution through IngramSpark and Gardners.com
  • A long-term route toward bookshop stock, not a one-off print run
The Name

Dunross — a headland, a stronghold, a place stories are kept

Our mark pairs a coastal ruin with standing stones: things built to last long after the people who made them. That's the idea behind Stories That Endure — a physical book on a shelf has a permanence a digital listing doesn't. Our job is to help your book earn that permanence.

How We Work

What we value

Plain Pricing

A clear setup fee depending on whether you need a cover designed, plus one revenue share — explained upfront. No confusing packages, no charges for copies that never sell.

You Keep Control

Your manuscript, your rights, your KDP listing. We add a channel to your business — we don't take it over.

Craft Over Speed

A cover and interior that meet IngramSpark's specification the first time, because a rejected print file costs you time you don't get back.
