A straightforward, seven-step process that takes your existing KDP title and prepares it properly for print distribution — with your approval at every stage.
Tell us about your book
Send us your manuscript, a link to your existing KDP listing, and a few details — genre, page count, and what you're hoping to achieve in bookshops.
Review & quote
We review your title for fit and confirm your setup fee — £100 if you supply the cover artwork, £250 if we're designing it from scratch — plus an estimated timeline. Nothing is charged before this point.
Cover design
If you supply your own artwork, we adapt it for print. If not, we design a bespoke cover from scratch — either way, full wrap, spine text sized to your exact page count, and artwork that holds up on a bookshop table, not just a thumbnail.
Interior formatting
Your interior files are rebuilt to IngramSpark's exact template specifications — trim size, bleed, margins, and colour profile — so the print files meet spec first time.
Proofing & approval
You review a full proof of the cover and interior before anything is published. Nothing goes live without your sign-off.
Upload & listing
Once approved, we upload your title to IngramSpark and set it up for listing on Gardners.com — the UK wholesaler that supplies independent and chain bookshops.
Ongoing sales & reporting
Your title becomes orderable by bookshops. We monitor sales, send intro letters and support outreach to stores as relationships develop, and report revenue — taking our 10% only on what actually sells.
What this process doesn't change
Your KDP listing stays live
We're adding a print distribution channel alongside Amazon KDP, not replacing it. Your existing sales continue as normal.
You keep the rights
Your manuscript and its rights remain yours throughout. We prepare files and manage distribution on your behalf as a service.
You approve every stage
Cover, interior, and proof all require your sign-off before anything is uploaded or published.
